Radiesse
Radiesse is an FDA approved wrinkle filler for correction of moderate to severe wrinkles and groves. It is long lasting-up to 1 year which makes it very desirable. Again, in the hands of an artistic injector familiar with the facial anatomy this filler can transform a face in astonishing ways. This filler is not based on the hyaluronic acid molecule but rather on an inorganic substance, a calcite powder, mixed in a gel. This substance is highly bio-compatible with human tissue, and side effects a rare, minimal and very temporary.
Another advantage is that the injection of this filler causes only minor discomfort in contrast to Restylane and Perlane which require either dental or other facial nerve blocks for pain relief. The substance is injected with an easy flow that makes sculpting of the face a pleasure.
Typical areas of injection are the nasolabial folds and the areas around the mouth. An experienced injector will also do the fine smokers’ lines around the mouth, any hollows in the cheeks, correction of the jaw line, and the wonderful build up of the cheeks, giving the face that young and natural look you once had.
